Multi-user feature in Realme: Welcome back guys, I am here with a new tech tutorial. In this post, we will come to know how to enable the multi-user feature in Realme devices.

Realme devices started getting the multi-user feature via OTA update. So check your Realme device for the latest update. You can check the Realme device for latest update by following the given below methods:

Go to setting>> Software update>> it will now automatically connect to the update server and try to find if any new update available for your device. If there is an update available for your device it will show you download option.

What is multi-user feature

Multi-user feature is the feature which facilitates you to share your Realme device with other people by creating the additional users. You can create a number of users in your Realme mobile for your friends, family member and others.

Each user has their own space, which they can customize with apps, wallpapers and so on.

  • Users can also adjust device settings that affect everyone, like Wi-Fi.
  • When you add a new user, that person needs to set up their space.
  • Any user can update apps for all other users.
  • Accessibility settings and services might not be transferred to new users.
  • You can limit calling facility to new users and you can also provide access to calling if you like to do so.

Uses of multi-user feature

Multi-user in Android mobile is just similar to User Accounts in Windows Computer. You can create different user account for different users. Multi user in Realme mobile create different space for each user.

Uses of multi user are as follows:

  • It is very useful if many people use a single mobile.
  • If you need to share your mobile with a guest then you can give your mobile to your guest after login in Guest ID.
  • Multi-user is helpful if you share your mobile with your kids. They can’t delete any data from your Admin account if create a separate id for them and give your mobile to them after login in their different User ID.
  • It is helpful to save you private data in a different account to protect its access from other people.
  • You can use this feature according to your requirement.
  • You can also hide some data in a separate User ID in the same mobile.
  • You can create your one account for your office work and another account for your personal work.

Enable multi-user feature in realme

Multi-user feature is the new feature for realme devices. And all realme devices are getting this feature via OTA update. You should update your realme mobile to the latest version to get this feature via OTA update.

By default this feature is disabled so you need to enable this feature manually to use it in your realme device.

To enable multi-user feature in your realme device follow the simple steps given below:

Go to [settings]>>[User Accounts]>>[Multi-User]>>[Enable]

Now you have enabled this feature. But you need to create new users to use it.

You can create many users in your Realme mobile or you can also use guest user option to share your mobile with other people. Follow the simple steps to create a new user.

Go to [settings]>>[User Accounts]>>[Multi-User]>>[Add User]>>[OK]>>[Get Started]

Now do some settings according to your requirement as asked by the system. You will also prompt a message “When you add a new user, that person needs to set up their space“.

Difference between Guest user & New User

Multi-user feature in Android mobile is quite similar to users account in computer. There are three types of user can be created in your realme mobile using multi-user feature.

Once you enable the multi-user feature in your Realme mobile two types of user are automatically created. First is Administrator and second is Guest.

Guest User

Guest Users in Realme mobile are users who can not access files and folders as none of mobile storage data is shared with them.

Guest user is a temporary account created in realme mobile. Once you switch Guest user to Administrator (Main) user all of the data will deleted from Guest account and changes made in guest account will not be saved.

Although Realme also provide facility to use guest user with previously used Guest ID. Here you can find data saved or changes made in last used Guest ID.

Login as Guest ID

To login as Guest ID in your Realme mobile follow the simple steps:

Go to [Notification center]>>Click on [Switch user icon]>> [Guest] >>[Override data and continue]

Once you login to fresh Guest ID you will find no data in it. You have login with your Gmail id again to access Google services.

There is no data in the file manager, video app, music app and even you have to login third party apps also.

You can log in your Gmail account or third party apps with existing id or new id as you want. You can also log in your third party apps like Facebook, Instagram, twitter etc with your different ID.

Once you login you Realme mobile with Guest ID or new User ID you will not find any data in built-in apps like photos, videos and music.

Once you login you Realme mobile with Guest ID or new User ID you will not find any data in the File manager app. As you can see there are zero items showing in each folder. Means all folder are empty.

Once you login you Realme mobile with Guest ID or new User ID you will not find any data in the contact, message app. As you can see there are no contacts showing in the contact app.

But you can still import your contacts from other sources if you want to use this with any User ID.

You also need to login again in each third party app like Facebook, Instagram, twitter etc with your different ID.

You can restrict calling & messages for each User ID

Multi-user also acts as multi parallel space as you create multiple user accounts in a single Realme mobile. And you can also log in with multiple social media ID, different ID in each User Account.

Login as New User

You can create many new users other than Admin & Guest account. You can create new users for your family members, friends or others to whom you do share with your mobile.

You can also create your two own User Accounts (1) for Home or personal purpose and (2) for Office or professional purpose.

Personal or Home user Account

This type of User Account can be used for your personal purpose. In this type of account, you can keep your personal data like family photo or videos and other documents related to your personal life.

You can login with your personal whats app in this account. And you can use all of your personal social media accounts in this account.

Office or Professional User Account

This type of User Account can be used for your official purpose. In this type of account, you can keep your official data like official documents and your profession related to other data.

You can log in with your official or business WhatsApp in this account. And you can use all of your brand-related or your profession related social media ID’s in this account.

  1. I could set up a second user. But anytime she wants to make a call or write a text, she has to ask for permission of the administrator of the phone (which would be me). But how can I give these permissions???

    • Found the solution.
      As phone administrator you have to go to account settings, other accounts. There is a little settings icon near the name of the other users; there you can allow to use messages and phone.
      Just in case someone else will have the same problem :-).
